Tuesday photos Tuesday photos. Tuesday photos.
I drank like 6 cups of chai at lunch. It was the actual best. Indian buffet with the girls. Yay.
And then I wrapped gifts tonight.
Everything is much better where I am. All the amazing craziness is dying down on my end. :)
Also—tiny arrow necklace is adorable RIGHT???
Tomorrow is class as usual and lots of endocrinology studying (ugh) before I run off to tutor for the last session of the year. Busy busy—but the last truly crazy day of the week. :)
I love my tablet in medical school. At my school, while we weren’t “required” to buy one it was “strongly recommended”. And I would say it is almost required. So much is specifically iPAD compatible. Between the need to PDF annotate lecture slides, the ability to write long emails without booting up a huge laptop, the ease of getting at UptoDate or other such sites in clinic so you can do a quick refresh on the symptoms of this or that disorder, I couldn’t live without mine.
Since tech updates so quickly I would suggest waiting until the summer right before you start to buy your med school tablet. As is, I bought mine before we started and I’m considering getting a new one before I start rounding. I’m thinking about switching to iPad mini for the ability to shove it in my white coat pocket! :)
I adore adore adore my iPad. I could not live without it anymore. I use it for general life stuff too—managing my calendar on the bigger screen than my phone, Netflix, etc.
I think I wrote a little bit about this in my Week of Awesome posts back in August. However, I’m on the wrong computer to have that link right now. I can try and track it down tonight and post for you.
I have read that book! It’s excellent! Highly recommend.
It’s on my list of “books you have to read before or while in medical school”.
Put your iPhone on shuffle and it goes from playing actual music to Goljan lectures.
Living with a dog is like having a furry drunk person following you around all the time.
^^ most accurate statement of all time.
I enjoy coffee. Don’t you? So do these animals!
These Coffee Animal prints are available through December 9th at the modHERO web shop!
Who’s your coffee spirit animal?
I have amazing parents and amazing friends. I am so lucky to have them all.
I’m still not through the crazy part of this but I’ve come through most of it. I know I keep saying soon but there are a couple more people in my actual life that need the story first, tumblies. But this is the last of the last few days of crazy crazy crazy. Thanks for putting up with it.
Tonight I did some solid studying and am so exhausted!!!
I finished The Tennis Player by Verghese. You ever read it??? It was excellent. A really interesting commentary on substance abuse, medicine, friendship, and life.
Aww. Thanks. You so sweet.
So I can’t tell you all everything yet about my absence—but believe me when I tell you I will be writing you all a novel.
Let me just say that there was a lot of upheaval in my personal life the last couple of days and I thank you all for baring with me during this un scheduled absence. I just wanted to let you know that you all are lovely for missing me.
But I’m here again—so let’s talk. :)
I promise you a return to your regularly scheduled programming on this blog in 3…2…1…now!
I know a lot of people have, but usually I decide that it’s better for me to sleep than study those extra few hours. I have gone through a lot of 3-4 hours of sleep nights, but no complete all-night study sessions. It’s just not something I choose to do.
